2018 was a difficult period of my life. I was 16 and pregnant & my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. ​ She couldn't afford much & was unable to guide me through my pregnancy. ​ Young Lives provided me with unconditional support from mentors, and supplies for my child, and created a place to make friendships with other mothers and God. ​ At times I would receive random text messages asking about my day or my children and I questioned myself “Wow they really think of me at 9 a.m.?”. ​ What I loved the best was they always made sure we enjoyed our time at the club because, as mothers, every day is a new challenge so having a day where we can find peace and tranquility gave us more motivation to continue to persevere. We all join the club as strangers and, we create an everlasting connection.
